RSCD Tournament / Ladder History

Red Storm vs. RSCD...

On June 11th, Clan RSCD (the winners of last months Shakedown! tournament) were given the opportunity to go head-to-head with the the best Red Storm had to offer. Would it be the next match of the century? Find out for yourself...

The battle was a best of 3 series on 3 maps. The winner of each map was determined by the number of team victories recorded for that map and the overall winner was the team that won the most maps. With a strong line-up on both sides, we all expected a fierce battle that would come down to the last man and the first couple rounds proved to be just that.

The first map, chosen by Clan RSCD, was caves. RSCD snuck by with victories in the first and third rounds but Red Storm managed to keep it close the entire time. Check out these images:

Celebrity siting! Paul Newman in da house.

Trancekuja gets sneaky...

What the heck is Warden doing?

One of the top Ghost Recon players in the game was SK_ILLED from clan RSCD. Overall, his efforts proved to be the difference in this match. Here are a few images of him doing his thing against the RSE guys...

The second map was Embassy. For an experienced team, this map holds no secrets and RSCD showed off their talents right from the start. SK_ILLED, once again, came out with a bang (literally) as his grenade volley sent four members of Red Storm to their graves before they knew what happened...

(Incoming!...nevermind)

(Should my leg bend this way?)

(That's not a grenade!)

When hope was fading, Piggy made one final stand for RSE in the underground parking lot and managed to take out several members of the opposing team before finally being brought down. Check out these images of Piggy's last stand...

(A valiant effort Piggy)

Much like the greatest heavyweight bouts in the history of boxing (e.g. Ali vs. Frazier), one would think a Ghost Recon match-up of this caliber would rank among the best all time. Well...one would think...but one would be wrong. (Perhaps Tyson vs. Lewis is a more appropriate comparison?)

But regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone from Clan RSCD and Red Storm who participated in the event. If you'd like to see every minute of the match-up, click here and download the replay files.

The Tournament is Over and the Results are in....

Three long and grueling weeks have gone by. It began with over 400 entrants....those 400 quickly became 20....and in the end, only one player remained. This past weekend, the Official Desert Siege: Mercenaries Tournament came to a close in a BIG way. Hundreds competed for a chance to win some incredible prizes but only five were able to lay claim to those prizes.

So without further ado, here are the top five winners:

  • Dark-inf - 1st Place
  • TnT_Crusadur - 2nd Place
  • RSCD Sk_illed - 3rd Place
  • MIN_Soul - 4th Place
  • KzK_Fiz - 5th Place
Congratulations to everyone!

And special thanks to everyone below for helping put the tournament together and make it such a success: -Volkan

RSCD won both of the first 2 maps, the first map (Caves) was a bit challenging (all 3 rounds were close, they won the first and third) but the second more closely resembled a GR clinic as they decisively won the first 2 rounds (only Piggy's performance in the second round was RSE's saving grace).

Regardless of the outcome, I think everyone had a good time. Thanks Darren at Redstorm for getting his crew together for this. Special Thanks to Sean and Sam at Ubisoft for being there and helping to organize this event.
